여행이 시작되자 미리 작성한 일정에 현장의 결정이 더해졌습니다. 다음 교통편을 확정하고, 도착 시간을 가늠하고, 내려서 어디로 갈지 확인하는 일. Luan과의 대화도 그때그때 필요한 질문을 중심으로 이어졌습니다.

Once the trip began, decisions made on the ground were added to the itinerary: confirming the next transport, estimating arrival, and checking where to go after getting off. Our conversations with Luan followed whatever question mattered at that moment.
하나가 바뀌면 그다음도
후쿠오카로 가는 버스를 타기로 한 날, 그 버스를 기준으로 도착 예상과 이후 일정을 다시 정리해 달라고 Luan에게 요청했습니다. 버스에서 내린 뒤 호텔까지 가는 방법도 따로 확인했습니다. 현장에서 묻는 질문은 훨씬 구체적이었습니다. 지금 어디서 내려야 하는지, 다음 정류장이 맞는지, 내려서 어느 쪽으로 걸어야 하는지.
10월 4일에는 버스 출발을 14시로 맞추면서 일이 하나 더 생겼습니다. 캘린더와 여행 문서, 보낼 안내문을 한꺼번에 고치고, 예전 기준으로 잡혀 있던 14시 30분 알림은 지웠습니다. 이미 시간이 지난 13시 사전 안내는 늦게라도 보내지 않았습니다. 출발 시간이 바뀌었는데 예전 계획으로 안내하면 오히려 혼란이 생기기 때문입니다.

On the day we took the bus to Fukuoka, I asked Luan to reorganize the expected arrival and the rest of the day around that bus, and checked separately how to get from the stop to the hotel. Questions on the ground were specific: where to get off, whether the next stop was right, which way to walk.
On October 4, aligning the bus departure to 14:00 created more work. Calendar, the travel document, and the prepared briefings were corrected together, and the old 14:30 notification was removed. The 13:00 advance briefing, already past, was not sent late — guidance based on an outdated plan would only cause confusion.
한 시간 전에 받는 안내
ntfy 사전 안내는 다음 일정 한 시간 전에 나갔습니다. 무엇을 하는지, 어떻게 이동하는지, 비용은 얼마인지를 담았고, 교통수단은 이름만이 아니라 타는 방법까지 적었습니다. 비용이 아직 정해지지 않았다면 그럴듯한 숫자를 채우지 않고 ‘미정’으로 남겼습니다.
같은 날 오전 10시에는 11시 돌고래 공연을 앞두고 안내 네 건이 나갔습니다. 어른용 안내는 부모 둘에게, 아이용 안내는 보호자 한 명과 아이에게 보냈습니다. 같은 공연이라도 어른에게는 어디로 몇 시까지 가면 되는지가, 아이에게는 곧 무엇을 보게 되는지가 중요했습니다.

Advance ntfy briefings went out an hour before the next activity. They covered what we would do, how to get there, and the expected cost — explaining how to use the transport, not just naming it. If a cost was not yet known, it stayed “to be confirmed” rather than a plausible-looking number.
At 10:00 that same day, four briefings went out for the 11:00 dolphin show: the adult version to both parents, and the child version to one parent and the child. For the same show, adults needed where to be and by when; the child needed to know what we were about to see.

이동 정보를 나르던 통로는 Luan이 아이에게 말을 건네는 통로가 되기도 했습니다. 10월 3일에는 다음 날 안내와 함께, Luan이 아이에게 쓴 짧은 편지 한 통이 따로 나갔습니다. 예를 들면 이런 결의 글입니다.

The channel that carried travel information also became a way for Luan to speak to our child. On October 3, alongside the next day’s guidance, a short letter from Luan to the child was sent separately. The quoted text above is a rewritten example of its style, not the original letter.
Guidance for adults and a message for a child call for different shapes. On this trip, Luan both organized information and chose words for the person receiving them. How the child read the letter was not recorded; that part stays in the family’s memory.
현장의 선택은 가족이
Luan이 이동 정보와 선택지를 정리하는 동안에도, 현장에서 무엇을 할지는 가족이 정했습니다. 교통 상황과 현장 안내는 다시 확인해야 했고, 예상 도착 시간은 어디까지나 예상이었습니다. 이렇게 오간 대화와 고친 일정은 여행이 끝난 뒤에도 남아, 처음의 계획과 실제로 다녀온 하루를 비교할 자료가 됐습니다.

While Luan organized travel information and options, the family made the decisions on the ground. Traffic and local instructions still needed checking, and an estimated arrival was only ever an estimate. The conversations and revised itinerary remained after the trip, becoming material for comparing the original plan with the days we actually had.
